Safety Information

We own and host all three homes ourselves. Below is what we've recorded for each one, and who to call if anything feels wrong.

Home by home

• Cape Cod Cottage

  • The building has a couple of exterior security cameras, pointed away from the house. There are no cameras inside.

• Dennis Beach House

  • The building has a couple of exterior security cameras, pointed away from the house. There are no cameras inside.

• Hermit Lake Retreat

  • The house has exterior security cameras at the front door, the side yard and the shed. There are no cameras inside.
  • The freestanding stove in the dining area is not for guest use.
  • Boats on Hermit Lake are limited to 10 horsepower, and jet skis are not allowed.

Booking & payment safety

• Payments go through Stripe's checkout, so your card number never reaches our servers.
• We will never ask you to pay off the site or by wire transfer. If someone does, it's a scam: please report it.
• The homes on this site are the three we own: Dennis Beach House, Cape Cod Cottage and Hermit Lake Retreat.

Beach & lake safety

Our homes are near Cape Cod's beaches and on a New Hampshire lake. A few reminders:

• Swim near lifeguarded areas when possible and never swim alone.
• Keep a close watch on children in and near the water at all times.
• Check tide charts and local advisories before heading out; conditions change quickly.
• Wear a life jacket when boating, kayaking or paddleboarding.
